Geoff McDonell, P. Eng., a frequent contributor to this board, is giving a
1-hr seminar on radiant cooling at the Engineering Green Buildings
conference next month in Austin. (Sept 18-19)

Also, Peter D'Antonio, PE, from Denver, is giving a 1-hr session on
hydronic heating systems for green buildings.

I'm sure these topics will be discussed at length... as well as many other
topics this board has been discussing this year (Ed Mazria on Challenge
2030; Terry Brennan on moisture control; David Bearg on hvac performance
assurance), etc. There's even a session by Jim Wise on human nature and
buildings - he'll cover biophilia as well as other human-factors-related
topics.

Here's a link to the conference website: http://www.egbregistration.com.

Hope to see a good number of you there.

Michael

The problem can be that cool floors without means to remove humidity can
lead to moisture condensation on the floor. Pour a glass of iced tea, take
a
good sip...you deserve it...now place that glass on your floor. If your
unconditioned space is like mine, the glass will soon leave a good wet spot
on the floor. You do not want that occurring throughout the building on a
cool floor. Typical air conditioning not only lowers the temperature, but
it
more importantly, removes indoor humidity.
