Big Green: Biogas in Costa Rica?

Greetings,
A presentation on biogas was held this past week in
the south Caribbean of Costa Rica, in the interest of
seeking finances for a pilot biogas facility, fueled
by industrial marijuana (hemp). The presenter has a
patent on a biogas system, Klean Air Fuel (KAF), and
after validating his system through this pilot
program, German-based company 'Lurgi' would build
larger biogas plants. The project sounds like it has
alot of promise; a biogas plant with local community
ownership, leasing locally-owned vacant pasture, a
competitive market price...Can someone direct me to
studies posted on the internet that have been done in
this field to compare the speaker's results with other
research using industrial hemp, palm oil or banana?
His research suggests:
- production would result in around 6,000 gallons of
biogas per hectare; based on 3 cultivation periods of
hemp per year.
- the small biogas plant could produce 10 gal of
biogas per hour.
- cost of biogas production would be around $ 2.13
- 2.38 /gal to produce biogas for engines using
regular unleaded; cheaper production cost for diesel
engine biogas.
- no engine modification needed.
- can use biogas pure or as a mix with petrol.
- 6% of Costa Rican land could produce enough biogas
to meet the country's needs.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Nick Marrant
