Geothermal heat pumps are not and cannot be sustainable or high performance
systems.
All electric systems need to be eliminated, the excuse that solar PV, etc. can be
used is invalid.
Heat pumps generate hot water and chilled water to serve standard type air
conditioning systems, such as fan coil units.
Building energy systems need to be developed that utilize geothermal water for
cooling and for preheating with solar hot water and/or biogenerators with hot
water and electric generation.
Zero energy buildings need systems designed for this purpose now, not in 10
years time.
