Big Green: Existing Window Retrofit

Hello Fellow Greenies:
I have been made aware of a window retrofit product that struck me as
valuable enough to disseminate to our group.
A large percentage of old housing stock still exists with single pane
glazing and leaky frames... this product addresses this issue.
The Advanced Energy Panel product (http://
www.advancedenergypanels.com/) is two layers of clear polyolefin film
held in place between an extruded aluminum frame (not thermally
broken) and attached to the inside rough window opening with clips
but separated from the wall surface by compressible foam
weatherstripping.
It is designed to be placed around the interior window opening and
held in place with (4) or so rotating clips.
This effectively creates an additional two layer air barrier and uses
an environmentally friendly plastic with properties that inhibit
condensation (although the frame does not,) and is tested to
withstand the impact of a 90 mph baseball (although a sharp implement
cuts plastic easily.)
My sample has been in place for two months and has performed well
enough for me to recommend it.
Still, I would be happier if the frame was made of non-conductive
fiberglass but again, I have not had condensation issues with my
prototype installation and can see through it with good clarity.
And the price is very reasonable for a custom made product.
Does anyone know of a better or equivalent product to use for energy
retrofits?
