In light of an earlier question regarding post-industrial recycled content,
I wanted to forward this announcement from the Federal Trade Commission.

The FTC is now accepting comments on it Gudies for the Use of Environmental
Marketing Claims. This is a great opportunity to provide examples of
claims that do not meet FTC guidelines, push for better definitions of
post-industrial/pre-consumer recycled content, comment on misleading claims
of products being "recyclable" yet have no infrastructure for reclaiming
and recycling those products. The guidelines have not been revised since
1998, and as you know, the green movement has grown dramatically since then
and marketing of green claims has also escalated. Comments are being
accepted until February 11th.

The FTC is also specifically interested in claims on carbon offsets and
renewable energy credits. These comments are due January 25, 2008
