Big Green: Carbon Footprint Calculator for Product Development and Sales

Have any of you ever come across an effective carbon footprint calculator 
for the development and sale of a particular product? Our sales force is 
encountering requests for such a metric and I am not quite sure where to 
locate an effective tool.
