Big Green: low profile windows or curtainwall

Hopes Windows claim a thermal performance equal to or better than
thermally broken aluminum.  This is largely due to the fact that steel
is less conductive than aluminum.  Unfortunately, there isn't any
innovation happening around steel windows, if there were we might see
thermally broken steel frames and other improvements.   They are stil my
favorite choice for non-residential windows because of their longevity,
simplicity and narrow sightlines.  They are extremely unaffordable,
however, so I haven't been able to get them in a project past the first
cost estimate.  Again, with some innovation I'm confident the price
could come down.  But right now Hopes is the only company still making
them, and they still weld and grind each connection by hand.

I'm surprised that steel is suggested- I just assumed that they would
have a poor thermal performance. - They certainly can look nice.- Can
