You might want to consider mineral silicate paints: http://www.eco-house.com/silicate_paints.htm
These are very durable. They also breathe, thus allowing moisture trapped in the walls to pass through, instead of blistering paint.
We have had good experiences with Henry and Jeff at EcoHouse
