Subject: Big Green: LEED experience on projects
Has anyone had experience with the development of or been an advocate for a
green project that does not include an enclosed building space?
There are many segments of the construction industry outside the building
design segment that can incorporate a number of the LEED or other green
build program criteria. However; from my experience getting these projects
certified by a green build program (whether it be LEED or other regional
green build program) is difficult (if not impossible) since they do not meet
the prerequisites that deal specifically with enclosed buildings.
Does anyone know if LEED or other programs are moving toward development of
a program that addresses the unique needs of projects such as roads, ports,
marinas, parks, parkways, etc..?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Roxie
