You may already have this info since you're involved with industry or may
not be applicable but thought would mention

In Florida we have the Clean Marina designation that our marinas use
http://www.dep.state.fl.us/cleanmarina/about.htm

And you probably have this one for the Washington

Has anyone had experience with the development of or been an advocate for a
green project that does not include an enclosed building space?

There are many segments of the construction industry outside the building
design segment that can incorporate a number of the LEED or other green
build program criteria. However; from my experience getting these projects
certified by a green build program (whether it be LEED or other regional
green build program) is difficult (if not impossible) since they do not meet
the prerequisites that deal specifically with enclosed buildings.

Does anyone know if LEED or other programs are moving toward development of
a program that addresses the unique needs of projects such as roads, ports,
marinas, parks, parkways, etc....?

Thanks in advance for your reply,
Roxie

Yes! The USGBC has been looking at LEED for parks, public works "outdoor"
projects, etc. The ASLA has also been involved. I do not know if you can
find info about this on the USGBC website or not. Not sure where this stands
with the plan to reformulate all the LEED systems under 1 "bookshelf" system
in 2009.

There is also the LEED for multiple buildings & campuses application guide
that is typically used as an overlay to LEED-NC but can also be used with
LEED-CS and possibly other LEED systems as well. This overlay helps with
bigger sites with multiple buildings but is still meant for building
projects with sitework.

LEED was just obtained on a parking garage in Santa Monica, CA. And we are
considering using it on an underground parking garage.

Cheers,

Ralph
