I am looking for information on whether Lead-Coated Copper Gutters and Downspouts will negatively affect our LEED certification (going for LEED silver). I have found information about contamination of a child in Boston that lead them to ban the use of LCC on their municipal buildings and a few recommendations to not use the product (and I agree) but I cannot find a standing regulation against the product's use. I need to present information/articles showing that it would be more sensible and environmentally friendly to use zinc coated copper or another more environmentally friendly coating for the gutters/downspouts/conductor heads on a project that is under construction in Virginia.
Thank you,
Sandra
