> For the current commercial interior project, we are seeking to earn 1 point under Credit 3.2: Bicycle Storage & Changing Rooms. The USGBC Reference Guide (Third Edition October 2006) requires secure bicycle storage for 5% or more of tenant occupants, and further states that "if the required bike rack capacity cannot be reserved for the specific tenant space, the quantity then must be based on the entire building population."
>
> The project is located in a multi-tenant office building. The bicycle racks are located in a building common area and the owner does not wish to assign bicycle storage spaces to each tenant, therefore, the entire building population must be considered when determining if the required number of secured bicycle storage spaces. My question is, must we now provide bicycle racks for 5% of the entire building population in order to earn a point for this CI credit? Has USGBC moved the goal posts, or am I missing something here?
