In an ohio jurisdiction I was told in no uncertain terms that there would be no waterless urinals in that particular jurisdiction as long as this particular plans reviewer was at work. In Baltimore waterless urinals are technically not allowed by code but the jurisdiction has approved code modification letters to allow them when submitted. Other than that I have found code officials very receptive to sustainability issues and have been very encouraging. Message-ID: Alas Ecovative Design doesn't expect to be able to produce Greensulate for commercial distribution until next year - they are focusing this year on development of the process through their packaging version of the material (EcoCradle). In our Pharos Project we are right in the middle of the process of evaluating the currently available insulation products for toxics, recycled content and more and have developed some cool tools to sort the products and learn about the hazards of the chemicals the manufacturers use. As many of you know on this list, the foam board industry is quite the chemical soup and desperately needs a good dose of disclosure and of alternative products like Greensulate. Lets make this the year that transparency comes to the building product industry.
